Programme Overview
The BNurs (Part-time) for EN is an Honours degree programme that aims to provide a comprehensive and holistic nursing education programme for enrolled nurses to achieve professional excellence in nursing and pursue a higher professional status.  The four-year part-time curriculum is broad-based and multi-disciplinary, designed to introduce the bio-psycho-social aspects of health and nursing care in line with the development of a world trend in nursing education.  This programme establishes a basis for future postgraduate study, specialisation and research. 
4 Years

This is an honours degree programme. The curriculum integrates various nursing and health components such as adult nursing, mental health nursing, obstetric nursing, paediatric nursing, community health nursing and gerontological nursing as well as Chinese Medicine and other alternative therapies in maintenance of health and management of illnesses. Graduates are developed as generic nurses who will be able to work as competent practitioners in various health care settings. The credit-based curriculum of the BN for ENs programme consists of 19 theoretical courses and five practical courses over a period of four years.

Students who successfully complete the programme and pass all courses will be awarded a Bachelor of Nursing in one of the following five divisions: First Class Honours, Second Class Honours Division One, Second Class Honours Division Two, Third Class Honours and Pass. The grade point average obtained by candidates at the end of four years determines the Honours Award.

To be eligible for admission to this programme, an applicant

  1. shall comply with the University General Regulations ;
  2. shall be registered as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing Council of Hong Kong or hold recognized equivalent qualifications; and
  3. may be required to take a qualifying test of language ability and nursing knowledge.
