Chiba University, Japan
Ma Tsz-ho|Year 3 Bachelor of Nursing (Full-time) student
My exchange at Chiba University was a wonderful and fruitful experience. I have learned a lot and built entirely new friendships with people living in the same world but with different cultures. I attended Japanese clinical classes, events focused on the ageing trend, and Chiba University Hospital departments, and was introduced to Chiba University’s innovations. Being in Japan physically provided far more understanding than I could get from the internet or books. It is fascinating to know how similar learning environments – such as a university classroom – can differ across cultures, and how education systems and pastoral care can differ. Chiba University students shared with us their ambitions and incentives to learn. At the end of my exchange, I made a comparison PowerPoint in my final presentation. I am pleased that my summary was found to be interesting and appreciated. I will continue to bear in mind what I have learned from my exchange.
