Summer Incoming Student Exchange Programme 2024
Some 53 students from universities around the world joined the two-week HKU School of Nursing Summer Incoming Exchange Programme, where they enjoyed a learning and cultural exchange.
Organised around the theme of “Working towards SDG 3: Promoting Health & Well-being in the Community 2024”, the programme kicked off on July 2 and featured a full schedule of lectures, tours of the School of Chinese Medicine and Technology-Enriched Learning Mezzanine (Techmezz) in the HKUMed library, hospital and community visits, community experiential learning, cultural exchanges and an East-Meets-West Luncheon.
The students came from 10 institutions on three continents, including EWHA Womans University and Jeju National University in Korea, La Trobe University in Australia, Mahidol University and Mahidol University Ramathibodi School of Nursing in Thailand, the National University of Singapore, the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University in Taiwan, Trinity College Dublin in Ireland, the University of Navarra in Spain, and HKU. They enjoyed opportunities to develop intercultural understanding, and broaden their international perspectives.
Feedback from the students was highly positive, as they said the programme allowed them to enhance their social networks globally and significantly broadened their understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures.
