The 14th Hong Kong International Nursing Forum cum  2024 Sino US Nursing Forum cum  2nd Greater Bay Area Nursing Conference

More than 400 delegates from across the globe joined our 14th Hong Kong International Nursing Forum cum 2 2024 Sino US Nursing Forum cum  2nd Greater Bay Area Nursing Conference, which was jointly organised by the School and The University of Hong Kong – Shenzhen Hospital (HKU-SZH) on December 6-7, with 47 other prestigious universities and organisations.

The theme was “Cross-Boundary Collaboration for Future Nursing” and speakers and scholars offered their perspectives on how nursing professionals can collaborate across geographical, cultural, and interdisciplinary boundaries. By promoting cooperation and collaboration among nursing professionals and institutions globally, the forum provided a springboard for discussions on the challenges and opportunities facing nursing in an interconnected and globalised world.

The event commenced with a welcome address by Professor Kenneth Cheung Man-chee, Hospital Chief Executive of The University of Hong Kong – Shenzhen Hospital, and a Vote of Thanks by School Director, Professor Chia-Chin Lin. This was followed by a Kick-off Ceremony for the 30th Anniversary of the HKU School of Nursing, marking the beginning of a series of celebratory programmes to commemorate this significant milestone for the School.

The event was deeply enriched by the insights and expertise shared by our keynote speakers and invited speakers and moderators. They contributed knowledge and inspiration on various topics related to innovation in healthcare, research, and unlocking innovation through collaboration and beyond. Oral and poster presenters were also provided an opportunity to showcase their research findings. Delegates commented that the conference was a valuable platform for learning and networking.

The forum ended with a closing ceremony where the Forum Chairs, Professor Patsy Chau Pui-hing and Professor Edmond Choi Pui-hang, delivered Vote of Thanks. Best poster awards were presented at the ceremony, followed by two post-forum events, the U21 Health Sciences Group Nursing and the Midwifery Discipline Group Research Postgraduate Symposium and Simulation Seminar – Best Practices and Innovations in Simulation-Based Education. We extend our gratitude to all participants for contributing to the success of this event.
