Student Taster Session for JUPAS Applicants

The School organised three Student Taster Sessions in June and July to help JUPAS applicants gain a better understanding of our programmes, our unique teaching approach and our use of immersive multimedia learning.

Participants were introduced to the key elements of the curricula by Professor Polly Li Wai-chi, Associate Programme Director of the Bachelor of Nursing (BNurs) and Bachelor of Nursing Advanced Leadership Track (BNurs-ALT), who also gave a lecture on myocardial infarction (heart attack). At the Technology-Enriched Learning Mezzanine (Techmezz), Lecturer Dr Philip Hung Ming-wai showed participants VR and the latest technologies for reading electrocardiogram graphs. Together, the lecture and tech demonstrations offered a highly engaging focus on heart disease diagnosis. The final session was a sharing session where HKU Nursing students talked about university life and answered questions from the secondary school students.
