Secondary School Students Get Hands-on Experience at HKU Nursing

Sixty secondary school students from local and international schools joined our Summer Programme 2025 – Discover HKU Nursing, where they experienced the full range of life at HKU, from classroom lessons to a High Table Dinner, and had opportunities to engage with programme leaders and student and alumni representatives.

The highlights include a problem-based learning session, a Life Sciences workshop, and campus tours of both the Sassoon Road and HKU main campuses by our student ambassadors. Participants also visited Queen Mary Hospital, where they were given an overview of the Hospital Authority's healthcare services and were excited to experience the hospital environment firsthand. They experienced hall life, too, by living in a student dormitory.

The programme concluded with hands-on clinical skills training in the laboratory, where participants had the opportunity to practice nursing techniques, interact with simulators and explore virtual reality tools.
