International Turnout for AQUHN Workshop
More than 400 participants from 57 institutions and 17 countries/regions joined the Asia-Pacific Qualitative Health Research Network (AQUHN) Workshop, Exploring Popular Qualitative Designs in Health Research, which was hosted by the School on September 4- 5 and 8-9, 2025.
The interactive webinar series was aimed at researchers interested in qualitative methodology. It combined theoretical foundations with practical applications, offering opportunities for researchers of all levels to enhance their qualitative research skills and advance their publication success.
The speakers included Professor Virginia Braun of the University of Auckland, New Zealand, who spoke on Thematic Analysis for Health Research; Professor Stephen Neville of the University of the Sunshine Coast, Australia, who spoke on Publication of Qualitative Research; Professor Kristina Mikkonen of the University of Oulu, Finland, who spoke on Content Analysis for Health Research; and Dr Hye Ri Choi of HKU, who spoke on Qualitative Review: Thematic Synthesis.
Dr Choi and Professor Jay Lee Jun-jae were moderators of the event, which also provided a valuable platform for experts, researchers, and postgraduates to exchange insights on qualitative health research.
