More than 1,500 Join Virtual International Nursing Forum
The 10th Hong Kong International Nursing Forum cum 3rd Sigma Asia Region Conference was held virtually online for the first time and attracted more than 1,500 participants.
This flagship annual event was jointly organised by the School and the Sigma Theta Tau International Asia Region on December 7-8 and also attracted a record 41 co-organisers from around the world.
The theme of the gathering was “Nursing’s Evolving Roles in Transforming Global Health: Challenges and Opportunities” and speakers included international and local leading authorities in nursing research, education and clinical practice, who presented and discussed their insights on the latest developments in, and transformation of, the role of nurses.
The opening ceremony was officiated by Professor Sophia Chan, Hong Kong’s Secretary of Food and Health; Professor Vivian Lin, Executive Associate Dean of LKS Faculty of Medicine and Professor of Practice (Public Health), and Professor Chia-Chin Lin, Head of HKU’s School of Nursing.
