Strategic Purchasing of Healthcare Services: Guest Sharing by Dr Cheung Wai-lun

The Master of Nursing programme was delighted to welcome Dr Cheung Wai-lun, JP, Director of the Strategic Purchasing Office of the Health Bureau, to give an overview of strategic purchasing of healthcare services to MNurs students and others and exchange views on the topic. The talk, held on March 7, attracted a diverse audience that included not only students but also management and senior members of the Strategic Purchasing Office, Health Bureau and various hospitals.

Dr Cheung’s expertise and thought leadership sparked dynamic and insightful discussions, fostered a valuable exchange of ideas on strategic purchasing within Hong Kong’s dual-track healthcare system to address resource mismatches, and promoted evidence-based service utilisation for better health outcomes.
