Intellectual exchange and practice advancement worldwide
HKU School of Nursing has been progressively gaining presence and taking leadership in the advancement
of nursing worldwide. We provide an international platform for intellectual exchange via co-hosting the flagship
Hong Kong International Nursing Forum with renowned institutes that include the Johns Hopkins University
School of Nursing, International Council on Women's Health Issues (ICOWHI), the University of Hong Kong-
Shenzhen Hospital and Sigma Theta Tau International Asia Region.
The School is also dedicated to further developing and improving nursing education and research, and sharing
clinical nursing practice and resources in Mainland China, Southeast Asia and East Asia through its representation
in the Southeast and East Asian Nursing Education and Research Network (SEANERN), the China Nursing
Consortium of Elite Teaching Hospitals and East Asian Forum of Nursing Scholars (EAFONS). As a member of
Universitas 21 (U21), an international network of leading research universities, the School also collaborates with
member universities to create opportunities to discuss nursing issues and advocacy.
International recognition has helped the School’s staff excel, as their dedication and significant achievements
in nursing has been noted by prestigious professional organisations. School members have been inducted
as fellows of the American Academy of Nursing, elected as Sigma Global Regional Coordinator for Asia, and
inducted into the International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame of the Sigma Theta Tau International.
