Events

To help JUPAS applicants gain a better understanding of HKU School of Nursing programme. We organised three Student Taster Sessions on June 23, June 24 and July 8.  The event featured a programme overview, a mini-lecture, and student sharing.

Professor Polly Li, Associate Programme Director of the Bachelor of Nursing (BNurs) and Bachelor of Nursing Advanced Leadership Track (BNurs-ALT), introduced the key elements of the curricula and gave a lecture on myocardial infarction (also known as a heart attack).  At the Technology-Enriched Learning Mezzanine (Techmezz), where Lecturer Dr Philip Hung Ming-wai led students using VR and the latest technologies to learn to read electrocardiogram graphs, combining lecture knowledge to diagnose heart diseases.  Students were enthusiastic and highly engaged throughout the event.  During the last sharing session, HKU Nursing students shared their university life and answered questions from secondary school students.

Participants expressed that the activity not only offered them an opportunity to experience HKU’s unique teaching approach and immersive multimedia learning, but also provided them with a first-hand experience of studying at university.
