Dr Susan Hassmiller, Senior Adviser for Nursing, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the United States, was the speaker of the 9th Serena Yang Lecture.  She shared with the audience on the topic “The Future of Nursing 2020-2030:  Charting a Path to Achieve Health Equity”, which is the report released by the United States’ National Academy of Medicine. The presentation described key takeaways and recommendations from the report and discussed how nurse leaders and other healthcare stakeholders can address the structural inequities and meet the need for a stronger nursing profession.

The 9th Serena Yang Lecture was held on December 9, 2021, in conjunction with the 11th Hong Kong International Nursing Forum held virtually online.  Since 2008, the School has been organising the Serena Yang Lecture as gratitude toward Dr. Serena Yang for her staunch support and generous donation to the School of Nursing.
