An Immersive Introduction to HKU Nursing for Secondary School Students
July 9, 2026

The HKU School of Nursing welcomed over 80 S2 and S3 students from various secondary schools in early July 2026 for an immersive learning experience, offering them an early glimpse into the nursing profession and university life.

The visit featured a lecture titled "Supporting the Patients along the Journey (from the Perspective of a Nurse)", delivered in a university lecture theatre setting.  Through the session, students gained insights into the diverse roles nurses play in supporting patients and families across different stages of care, while experiencing firsthand the learning environment of a university classroom.

Students also participated in a series of interactive laboratory sessions, including virtual reality (VR)-enhanced learning, simulation-based training, and hands-on learning related to intravenous injection procedures.  These activities showcased HKU Nursing's innovative, technology-enriched approach to education and provided students with a deeper appreciation of the nursing profession.

We were delighted to see students actively engaged throughout the visit as they explored future possibilities in nursing and healthcare.
