The HKU Information Day for Undergraduate Admissions was held successfully on November 4, 2017. Our theme this year was “Be the Next Pioneer”. A wide array of informative activities were arranged for our visitors including the information seminars on our Bachelor of Nursing (Full-time) programme, poster exhibitions, theme board displays, guided tours, health information booths on the topics of smoking cessation and organ donation which showcased the excellent work of our School in education, research, clinical and community service.

The highlight of the day was the various nursing skills demonstrations in our newly renovated Nursing Clinical Skills Laboratories and Simulation Training Centre in the Pauline Chan Building. Visitors were highly impressed by the simulated hospital settings in our laboratory, such as the Medical and Surgical Ward, General Out-patient Clinic, A & E (Resuscitation Room) and the latest equipment used in simulation teaching such as the high fidelity simulators. In addition, they also enjoyed exploring our six innovative community simulation rooms, which provided a good platform for our students to practise community nursing. With the state-of-the-art technology and equipment, we believe our students could make the best out of their learning time at our School.

Sincere thanks to the concerted effort of our academic and administrative staff, and our nursing students for making this annual occasion a successful one.  We will keep up with our good work to educate quality nursing students and provide more opportunities for the public to learn about the nursing profession.
