- 30 May 2024
With immense pride, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to the Class of 2024! The School and the graduating students from our first cohort of the Master of Science in Nursing [MSc(Nurs)] and Bachelor of Nursing (Full-time) (BNurs) programmes were elated to be part of the momentous Pinning Ceremony that took place on May 30, 2024. We were honoured to have Professor Chak-sing Lau, Dean of Medicine, HKUMed as the officiating guest, and the HKUMed Deanery and the leaders from the healthcare sector to grace our event with their presence as the pinning guests.
Dean Lau kicked off the event with welcome remarks, shared his experience with nurses in his early days as a doctor and welcomed the graduates to the esteemed nursing profession. This was followed by an opening remark by Professor Chia-Chin Lin, Director of HKU School of Nursing, who commended our students for embarking on a new phase in life and using their expertise and knowledge to make significant contributions to the community. Each graduating student received a nursing pin from our honourable guests and teachers on stage, symbolising the academic nursing achievement that our graduates accomplished and their commitment to the highest professional standards.
After receiving the nursing pin, Professor Lin led the graduating students in lighting up their candles and reciting the Nightingale Pledge. Enthused by Florence Nightingale's spirit and inspiration, our N24 students embarked on a journey to tackle challenges and seize opportunities in their esteemed profession.
To conclude the ceremony, a class representative from MSc(Nurs) and two BNurs graduating students, on behalf of their class, delivered the vote of thanks and shared their words and appreciation with the attendees.
Parents, relatives, teachers and friends of Class of 2024 shared their joy together. Our School was grateful to witness another batch of graduates, brimming with dedication and commitment, joining the healthcare community. They are poised to make valuable contributions to the healthcare system, a testament to their unwavering commitment to the noble profession of nursing.
