Skill Sharing Workshop – The Application of Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) for Nurses Past Event

A skill-sharing workshop on the application of Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) was organised for HKU School of Nursing teachers. The objectives were to improve understanding of the principles of physics and instrumentation of ultrasound system to obtain optimal images and to master basic scanning techniques, so as to facilitate teaching and exchange among nurses.  Dr Pauline Yeung, Clinical Assistant Professor, Critical Care Medicine Unit, School of Clinical Medicine of The University of Hong Kong shared basic principles of ultrasound examination, operation of a handheld ultrasound device, and demonstrated basic scanning techniques with our nursing teachers.  Teachers also had a hands-on practice of scanning among themselves.  It was an interactive and fruitful session.
