The 2-week HKU School of Nursing Summer Incoming Exchange Programme with the theme: ‘Working towards SDG 3: Promoting Health & Well-being in the Community 2024’ was a unique and enriching experience for all involved.  Kicking off on July 2, the event saw a total of 53 students from 10 universities worldwide, including EWHA Womans University (South Korea), Jeju National University (South Korea), La Trobe University (Australia), Mahidol University (Thailand) and Mahidol University Ramathibodi School of Nursing (Thailand), National University of Singapore (Singapore), National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (Taiwan), Trinity College Dublin (Ireland), University of Navarra (Spain) and The University of Hong Kong (Hong Kong).  Our School was thrilled to welcome these participants to an exciting schedule, including lectures, tours to the School of Chinese Medicine and Technology-Enriched Learning Mezzanine (Techmezz) in the HKUMed library, hospital and community visits, community experiential learning, cultural exchanges and the East-Meets-West Luncheon.

The Programme served as a platform for students to meet with their counterparts in the World, to provide them with the opportunities to develop their capabilities in intercultural understanding, and to enable these participants to broaden their international perspectives.  Participants expressed that they enjoyed the 2-week activities; they found the Programme fulfilling, allowed them to enhance their social networks globally, and significantly broadened their understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures.
