The HKU School of Nursing successfully hosted the Summer Programme 2026 – Discover HKU Nursing from August 3 - 6, 2026, welcoming over 60 secondary school students from local and international curricula for an immersive four-day experience.

Designed to offer a glimpse into nursing education and university life, the programme featured a diverse range of activities, including problem-based learning sessions, a Life Sciences workshop and guided tours of the Sassoon Road Campus and HKU Main Campus.

A highlight of the programme was a visit to Queen Mary Hospital, where participants gained firsthand insights into healthcare services provided by the Hospital Authority and explored the clinical environment alongside healthcare professionals.

Students also enjoyed hands-on clinical skills training, practising basic nursing techniques, interacting with high-fidelity patient simulators and exploring innovative virtual reality learning technologies that are shaping the future of nursing education.

Beyond the classroom, participants experienced HKU's vibrant campus culture through a High Table Dinner and an overnight stay in student accommodation. Meaningful exchanges with programme leaders, students and alumni provided valuable perspectives on nursing studies, student life and career pathways.

The programme offered an inspiring introduction to the dynamic world of nursing and healthcare, while fostering new friendships, meaningful connections and a deeper appreciation of the nursing profession.
