We are pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the 15th Hong Kong International Nursing Forum cum International Forum on Proactive Health and Ageing. This significant event held on October 31, 2025 – November 1, 2025 was hosted by HKU School of Nursing, Xiangya School of Nursing at Central South University, and the Hong Kong Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group.

With the theme “Cross-Disciplinary Innovation and Nursing Leadership: Advancing Health, Shaping a Future of Excellence”, the forum was co-organised by 29 renowned universities and organisations and attracted 500 participants from across the globe.

The forum commenced with an officiating address by Professor Chung-mau Lo, Secretary for Health of The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, followed by a welcoming address by Professor Peng Gong, Vice-President and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic Development) at The University of Hong Kong. Alongside with other officiating guests, Professor Xuejun Li, Vice Dean of Xiangya School of Medicine, Central South University; Mr Dahong Li, Chairman of Hong Kong Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group and Publisher of Ta Kung Pao and Wen Wei Po; who addressed the participants, Professor Chak-sing Lau, Dean of Medicine at The University of Hong Kong presented the vote of thanks to the forum participants.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed keynote speakers, including Professor Robert L Klitzman from Columbia University; Professor Jing Wang from Florida State University; Professor Emerita Jill White from The University of Sydney; Professor Emma Stanmore from The University of Manchester; Professor Olga Yakusheva, from Johns Hopkins University, for sharing their expertise on trending topics related to the forum theme.

The event featured two sub-forums focused on “Active and Healthy Ageing”, as well as a “Young Scholar Forum: Rising Stars in Nursing”, where speakers shared their insights. In celebration of the School’s milestone, School Director Professor Chia-Chin Lin and former School Heads, Professor Sophia Chan and Professor Agnes Tiwari, reflected on their journeys with HKU School of Nursing at the Panel session titled “Celebration of the 30th Anniversary of HKUSON: Three Decades of Nursing Leadership”. This was followed by a roundtable discussion on “Future of Leadership in Nursing Education” and a symposium on “Leadership in Nursing Workforce”.

The invited speakers and moderators contributed their knowledge and inspiration on various topics related to proactive health and ageing. Presenters of oral and poster presentations showcased their research findings, enriching the forum and providing valuable opportunities for learning and networking.

The forum ended with a closing ceremony led by the forum co-chairs, Professor Chia-Chin Lin and Professor Honghong Wang. The best poster awards were also recognised and presented during the award ceremony.

Once again, we extend our gratitude to all participants for their valuable contributions in making this forum a great success.
