Jie Zhong

Dr. Jie Zhong is a Research Assistant Professor at School of Nursing, The University of Hong Kong. She graduated with a BSc in Nursing in 2016 from Central South University, a MSc in Nursing in 2019 from Fudan University, and a PhD in Nursing Research and Theory Development in 2023 from Rory Meyers College of Nursing, New York University. She also received one-year training as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Northeastern University in Boston.

Under the guidance of Life Course Health Development Framework, Dr. Zhong’s research aims to optimize health development continuously over the life span from pregnancy, the postpartum period, middle life, to older age. Eventually, she is interested in developing digital health interventions to promote healthy behavior change across couples at home and support the decision-making process between patients, families, and health care providers at primary care settings. Her past research experiences included evidence-based practice for gestational diabetes management, the impact of family resilience on postpartum depressive symptoms, the development of a mHealth tool to bridge communication for people living with dementia, and the development of a couple-focused mHealth tool to support treatment adherence for couples living with sleep apnea.
