Event details

The School organised a half-day Healthcare Education and Simulation Workshop on March 5, 2024 with the aim of giving participants information and skills on the most recent developments in healthcare and simulation-based learning and education, as well as a platform for knowledge sharing and ideas exchange.

The workshop kicked off with welcoming remarks by Professor Chia-Chin Lin, Director of the School.  Followed by a lecture on the theme “Best practices, innovation and debriefing in simulation-based education” by Dr John Fung, Senior Lecturer and Chair of the Quality and Safety Education Subcommittee of the School.

After the lecture, participants had hands-on experience with the facilitation of the nursing teachers from the School’s Quality and Safety Education Subcommittee to develop simulation-based scenarios and conduct debriefing sessions. The participants responded favourably to the workshop.  The development of simulation, the use of interprofessional simulation and integrated scenarios, the future of simulation-based education in healthcare, the integration of simulation into large classroom settings and debriefing, etc. were among the topics discussed by not only local healthcare practitioners and educators but also nursing educators from mainland China.
