Nursing Summer Programme 2019 Past Event

Event details

47 senior secondary students from different schools have participated in the “Nursing Summer Programme” during the period from August 1 to 5, 2019.  This 5-day summer programme was designed for secondary school students who aspire to serve the community as professional nurses.

The participants have been guided by our fellow teachers and current students throughout the programme. Through insightful lectures, visitation to our state-of-the-art Simulated Nursing Skills Training Centre, basic nursing skills demonstration and trail, such as wound dressing, removal of staple, and blood pressure and SaO2 measurement, etc., students were able to taste the holistic nursing education as well as the advanced learning environment and facilities at HKU.

In addition, the participants have visited the Jockey Club Life Journey Centre and conducted field trips to have a better understanding on the health need of the society and the importance of quality nursing care. As one of the HKU distinctive traditions, High Table Dinner has also been arranged for participants to chit-chat with our teachers and students and to enjoy a wonderful night at HKU.
