Professor Colleen Varcoe, Professor, The University of British Columbia, was invited to visit our school in April 2014 and gave a seminar with topic: “Organizational and individual level interventions: Progress on two interventions to address trauma and violence”. Professor Colleen Varcoe is committed to creating more just and ethical health care. Her work examines how the inequities of ethnicity, class, place and ability are central to violence against women. She is especially interested in advancing ethical healthcare policy and practice. And various research projects converge to enhance practice and policy in the context of violence and inequity. All staff members found her seminar inspiring.
