Over sixty students from secondary schools in Hong Kong joined the Summer Programme 2023 – Discover HKU Nursing organised by HKU School of Nursing from August 1 to 3. During the three-day programme, participants experienced the HKU Nursing student’s life, such as problem-based learning and lecture on a nursing-related topic, etc. Our student ambassadors also shared with the participants their campus life, experiences of clinical practicum and oversea exchange, etc. Participants also practised hands-on basic nursing skills in clinical laboratories and visited The Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society Jockey Club Cancer Rehabilitation Centre to learn more about oncology nursing. In this three-day summer programme, participants not only made friends with other participants, but they also gained a better understanding of nursing as a discipline. We are happy to hear the positive feedback from our participants. Many have expressed interest in studying at HKU and pursuing nursing as their professional career.
